BJ and Norm at www.superfastminis.com in Royston Ga.. seem to turning this out.v tec cars at fast rate...  but like red riley said.. it is $22 k for the conversion alone. plus the engine.. the last I quote I heard...from BJ..  and I do NOT do any resto work unless I have a BLANK check.  There is NOT pay as you go.. I got tired of folks running out of money  30% through the resto..  and we all remember the infamous HAIRLIP..   the resto company is ALWAYS wrong here on MM.. and you all think the  customer always in right..   After folks figured out that I will file mechanics lien ( MVR 260/262.264 here in NC.. ) in 30 days if NOT paid in FULL. this has cured the lack of money payments.. here in Earl NC,,,  maybe BJ and Norm need to follow this policy of filing mechanics   liens if NOT paid in 30-60 Days??

To be fair, from talking to the guys at MiniTec, it seemed like the main reason for projects taking so long was that customers would only pay a bit at a time, and the cars would sit until more funds were forthcoming. I can only speak from my own experience, but I just kept checking on them and made several visits during the build to check on progress and hand them a check to keep them going. I think I dropped the car off in August 2008 and picked it up in February 2009 to drive to the FLAME Spring Thing in Orlando. I also did a fair bit of work after I got it back, fitting the seats and building and wiring the dash and stuff. For someone who is a better carpenter than a car builder, I thought the process was pretty good. The car did suffer from a fair amount of torque steer at first, but the guys built me some improved steering arms and it launches straight as an arrow now.

Brian is one VTEC owner who seems to have gotten it built right and or has learned how to drive and handle it. He is a long term owner and has a really nice conversion. However, surely he is the exception to the rule from what I've seen. Well, at least those cars that are 100% Minitec built. I personally still don't think they have it right, geometry, wiring, etc. As to the seller of the blue car, do you think it was reasonable for them to take 3 YEARS for the conversion? Considering that this is their only work you'd think they would have a better turn around time. Just a thought. I know of one guy who bought a Mini from them to convert. Bought a crashed Honda for donor. Sent them stacks of cash and he died before they delivered his car. AFAIN, they never finished that car or delivered /returned anything to his family. As I said before...cowboys.

I wasn't offended by what you said, I appreciate the feedback. It was the jerkoff below you who found it necessary to be an ass unprovoked. What if my kid had cancer or something and I needed the money? It's unnecessary to be a D***.

Unfortunately, the car took 3 years to complete so I've actually had a kid since then who's ready for school. I wasn't satifisfied with it the first couple times it came back but now it's pretty amazing. It's actually heatbreaking to sell it and if it's only worth $26k, might be a great excuse to keep it and have some fun.

Truthfully, I would have been a buyer if someone had put one up like mine, by the time you are done finding a great mini and doing the conversion, the price list is daunting. This ones done and its ungodly fast.

I'm fully aware of the '1967' year, but it's not wise to advertise otherwise.

Incredible or not, you'll never get close to 37 large out of it. Lots of folks have thrown big bucks at VTEC conversions and typically put the finished (or sometime unfinished) car up for sale within the first six months. Typically these folks have lost their ass on the sale, getting less than half of their investmentback. Sorry if I offended you, but that's what I've seen. As you put your wonderful car up for sale after less than 500 miles I viewed that as less than 6 months. Since I'm a father and a grandfather I certainly understand using the money for their education instead of having it tied up in a toy. The part of that which I don't understand is, didn't you think about education funding when you sent the car away to be "improved"? Took less than 500 miles/6 months to realize your kids needed school money? If I was spending that kind of money on a toy when my kids were closing in on college, I guess my wife would have reined me in before I got stupic. Good luck with your sale...and another thing, your car is not a 1967. It's a re-VIN. Obviously too new for the US, but could it be stolen and that's why they changed the VIN?

I just love my kids more than a car and it would help me pay for them to go to a good school. Not sure what you're getting out of being cruel about it? Five minutes after I post you're all fired up to tell me what an idiot I am. Nice life. ??‍??

The car is in no way an abomination, It's pretty incredible if you had taken the time to look.

as i have said on here many times before you should not order one or build one unless you have spent some hours driving one first.    so many people expect that doing this swap means you have a smaller honda civic when in fact the car doesnt handle, drive, steer or ride anything like a honda.   only seems like a honda when you start it up.  22k car at best.  and yes,  a 1967 with an airbag

Yet another happy VTEC owner. Less than 500 miles since $47 large investment but willing to negotiate from $37 large. First off, I'm glad to hear you got your car from those cowboys in Royston. Several either never got their cars or never got all the parts they ordered. So in that aspect you did well. On the other hand, (from what I've seen) you'll never come close to getting $37 large for your conversion. Most fall short of $20 large, but hey, good luck with your sale! It just amazes me how people will take a $17 large Mini, throw another 30 at it and then take a huge bath months after they get finished. CRAZY!
