Heritage certificate arrived and it confirms it was a RHD car for the home market.

After thinning the NOS red uppers I found several years back I recently found a box of used ones in good shape. Also a NOS floor mount starter button assembly with the button. Steve (CTR)

That's good insight Bill.

Well hopefully the van will still sell as a LHD car... either way I'm going to convert my Cooper to RHD as it is my preferred driving position for a classic mini.

Thanks everyone for the replies, always great how quick this group chimes in with great info!

whitelflagwar.. is is easier to sell RHD minis in the USA.. I have import 500 plus RHDs one. and only sold about 3-4 LHD ones.. the later all turned out to be W.L.B.s( whinnie little bitches) about wanting a LIFE time warranty..  so I NEVER import or convert to LHD now.. later bill cox.  www.montecarlomini.com  ps.. Miniman.. according to Parnalls BIBLE on cooper and cooper s.. on page 54.. it states that starting in jan 63,, KA2S4 was both used on RHD and LHD.. and that CA2S7 was used on RHD and LHD  for . Austin..   in 1963

The heritage certificate is already on order, first thing I purchased after I bought the car. :) It does have all red tail lights which made me think it was a US car.

I'm already half way through the swap back to RHD. I am swapping the components from my RHD Van. I will be selling the Van and I know it's easier to sell a LHD car here in the states so it makes sense to convert it anyhow.

If you really want to know get a heritage certificate - a certified copy of a factory record

mine is a '66 Mk1 Austin Cooper 'S (C-A2S7-L ******) and is a LHD, North American Export (exported to Philadelphia, U.S.A.)
my        '66 Mk1 Morris Cooper 'S (K-A2S7 *******) left the factory RHD and was converted to LHD in the US.

A Mk1 mini is simpler than most cars to change from left-to-right hand drive, or the reverse.

No changes to dash or trim, so your car might have started out as RHD.

You have to fit a new steering rack which is not trivial, probably a days work and move the pedal box and master cylinders (yes new pipes required).

Check that the headlights dip to the correct side and that you have all red tail-lights.

Car engines make CO2 and trees absorb CO2. By running your engine you're feeding a tree and helping the environment.

No that would be a right hand drive Morris cooper or cooper S

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch
