The brackets I have are in the op.
Do you think this will be an issue? I believe they are the gen 1.

After some recent damage to my previously installed PIAA driving lights I decided that I would prefer the look and feel of the original OEM driving lights. Since I still have the brackets and wiring for the PIAA lights I only purchased the lamps themselves, no extra wiring, brackets etc. My previous PIAA installation had the wiring routed through the engine bay safely with a separate on/off switch that I ran under the steering wheel and affixed with strong adhesive tape.
The brackets I have (currently uninstalled after hood work was finished): //new.minimania.com/part/NMA3026B/Mini-Cooper-Fog-Or-Driving-Light-Brackets-In-Black-Gen1
The OEM Driving Lights I have (purchased from a different site): //new.minimania.com/part/S6055/Classic-Austin-Mini-Chrome-Spot-Light--Driving-Light-Pair-5
A few questions I have:
1) Will these brackets work properly with the OEM driving lamps? The lamps fit in the drilled holes, but I don't want to make any extra assumptions.
2) Will the old electrical wiring for the PIAA lights work the same for the OEM driving lamps? I'd like to just modify the connections from the PIAA lights to connect the OEM lamps, but don't want to run into any electrical issues.
3) Is there any reason to use a rivet over some bolts to properly connect the brackets into the hood? I don't feel like there is much of a difference and I would like the ease of use to remove and reattach as needed.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

1) The brackets are the same dimensions as the factory pieces - so the answer is 'yes', they will fit fine.
2) As you mentioned, aside from connecting the aftermarket lights to the wiring, everything else can remain the same.
3) Bolts in place of rivets will work fine. I might suggest using a dab of thread locker to ensure the nuts stay in place.
