For vinyl trim I would use the 3M High-Strength 90 spray contact cement.  Be aware that while a lot of places sell it, the price varies wildly.  Home centers like Lowes and Home Depot typically have reasonable prices for it.

I have tried a DAP Weldwood contact cement and it did not provide a very long lasting secure bond, so will try one of the choices offered. Thanx Randy

The above suggestions are good.  Another option is Loctite Black-Max (380).

try the Gorilla rubber cement,it comes in tube or tiny bottle., stay away from those 3M sprayable adhesive, they don't work at all.

You could try contact cement. You clean both surfaces and apply a coat to each. Allow the cement to dry clear. When the two surfaces contact each other, they are glued (hence the name).
You can also get a water-based version that does not attack plastics - I use it to bond Styrofoam panels together.
In my Mini, I used it to apply new vinyl fabric to the upper dash pad with success.

Note: NOT suitable for slip-on joins - the glue will "lock" at first contact, preventing any movement.

I am looking for a glue that forms a strong bond for rubber to rubber (as on the two ends for the radiator to cowl rubber strip); but also for adhering rubber strips to metal and mending tears on the 50 year old rubber backed Mini carpeting in my Traveller. Anybody found some kind of glue-like adhesive? Randy
