Not the expensive $23k one for sure Al, maybe the rusty one with the red seats sold for that price.

Going to see the "expensive" one at lunch time, it's 5 blocks away. Any one want me to look at anything in particular?

Thank you for that info croc
I always wondered why some OZ Moke petrol filler caps were side mounted and some top mounted
The problem with a side mounted filler is that one then needs a working petrol gauge ( Moke joke) Big AL

If the "expensive" one was 1980 or 81 it would be galvanised. That is not a galvanised body, the fuel cap it top mounted. KJ in Oz

You are seeing it correctly Chuck. FWIW it looks like the same engine as when it was delivered to Hayes at Wire Wheel Sports cars.

The photos show what appears to be a small bore engine, or the "1200" is running a small bore head,...or I'm not seeing the photos correctly.

well. DUH.. MPlaye .it is. simple typo on the Florida title.. of 1988 instead of 1981.. as for the engine.. hayes MIGHT have changed to 1275cc for bobby rahal.. I know Hayes.. Rahal and Ben at wheels boutique.. all straight shooters.. maybe you need to buy that white / green POS moke from ML and see how that works out you .. you and ML deserve each other..

I just noticed another error in this latest advertising of it - the ebay posting shows 1980, the ad indicates "(*** Titled as a 1988 ***)".
The Moke is in fact a 1981.
Edit: Below is the response from the seller regarding being informed it is a 1981 with a 998 engine.

Thank you for info , but it is titled as a 1988 not much I can do we also confirmed via a moke dealer it's 1200cc not sure what else but I got to go with what we got . Thank you though for the info .
All the best,

I informed them that as such, I would not be considering getting my former Moke back.

Would someone who plays the eBay game make contact with whomever is responsible for the ad and make sure that the 1275 gets corrected to a small bore engine. Whether it is a mistake or false advertising, it just isn't right.

More like "False advertising" as the folks at WireWheel know how to tell the difference. That is where I recall first seeing it being listed as having a 1275 engine.
