My way of remembering is similar to Chuck's.  I remember "bright = white hot".  

Blue/red is for low beams and blue is the main feed to the dim/dip switch.

Another Chuck way for memory help: Remember White is Bright (i.e., high beam).

My factory wiring diagram shows the blue/white trace connected to the "main beam warning (dash) light" ..and the head lamps.  While the blue/white and blue /red wires both go to the headlamps the diagrams don't say which is which.  However, based on point 1 (above) I would bet on the blue/white being high beam ..

I am wiring the headlights on my 63 Mini. Each headlight has a blue/red and a blue/white wire. I am unable to tell from the diagram which wire is for the high beam, and which is for the low beam....help!
