Not necessarily so.

Have a look at this page which shows and explains how knock-off (aka knock-on) hubs and wheels are fitted. The hubs and wheels may be splined. The spinners are handed for the side of the car they go on - left or right hand tightening. Any movement of the rim will tighten the spinner. Note - in the drawing, it says to cut off the protruding studs to clear the rim.

The Alexander knock-on hub in the link Spitz provided looks like a weird way of doing it... the spinner drives through gears to "tighten" 4 separate nuts??! I can't imagine how you'd get equal torque on all 4 nuts.

A typical knock-off hub would look and work more like this (note not for a Mini) .....

That is okay we all get them. If you would endulge me one more time. The security question asks what is the sport version of the Mini. I answered Cooper S and 1275 GT which are both correct depending on year of production and neither one worked. So what is it? Thank You for all you help.

I believe the picture shows a true knock off centre not a bolt on. There was somebody making a kit over on the MKI forum a while ago, try asking the question there?

I am looking for knock offs/spiners like the one picture for mini wheels. It looks like they bolt on with the wheel nuts. Anyway looking fo a somewhat small spinner so it doesn't look funnny on a 10 inch wheel. Have looked all over and nothing. In the picture they are on Petal style wheels and so searched all manufactures of that style wheel. Still nothing. If anyone can help please chime in.
