Strengthening bar on the pontoons is probably needed because there are no strengthening ribs in the floors just flat steel panels front and back.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Nice Al!  I actually like pontoon 'step'... very Toyota 4-runner-ish, and really stiffens up the body! That is if you don't think it's cute that the English Mokes 'oil-can' over bumps!  I like the color too.... I've asked Bill if he can get me a bare galvanized bodyshell... I mean galvanized like a garbage can from Home Depot!  I think that would be a cool look... very Rat-rod.

Now you just need to loose those Chinese lawn-chair bumpers!  Let me build you a some serious "SmittyBuilt" style bumpers and roll cage too!  Those PVC looking things can't be taken seriously!

Here is my new Choke "Knockoff" in Orange or is that burnt cinnamon

All in all not a bad copy of an OZ moke, the only way to really tell the difference is the Choke has a strengthining bar added down the side of the pontoons to make it more ridged

My apologizes go out to the guys that have spent countless hours restoring their mokes to a pristine condition and then up rolls BIG AL in an knockoff, I am thinking of the late Zip, Peter Braun , Mark Caldwell and many others

Look for it at MM east, God willing
