What brake fluid are you using? DOT3? If not, that may be your problem.

My late brothers MGB used to eat these same brake switches too. I switched to NOS and dumped the new chinese switch, problem solved.

I'll second Kevin's comments that you can fabricate a bracket easily enough to mount a pedal switch. Unless you are really into keeping the car original, the pedal switch is a quick fix that will eliminate your having to deal with failing hydraulic switches.

The Accel version is from Amazon and fits a Harley as well.

I've been told a Harley switch fits. From Amazon etc.
After getting 3 months and 1 month from 2 new Mini hydraulic switches, I fitted a late pedal switch to mine, it's bolted to a bit of Dexion slotted angle. Can't see it anyhow.

Or you could fit a new switch and not use that nasty silicone fluid?
Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Yes it can be converted easily just a switch and a bracket with some lengthened wires and you are good to go. What it will cost in California probably more than any other State and around 2 hours labor i am guessing.

Iv'e got a 1969 MK2 Aussi built Mini that goes through the hydraulic brake switches every 3-6 months. Can this be converted to the brake switch that goes behind the brake pedal as they have on the later Mini's? I live in the So. Cali area which means I would probably have Heritage Garage in Costa Mesa do the work for me if in fact it can be done. What can I expect to pay for this kind of project to be done?
Thanks, Tony
