spoiled rotten.  I have NEW mokes in stock.. I have no need to import rusty POS.that are more the most part 37 years or older... any more..  and sure have no need or use for a Car broker with NO proper dealer lic  to sell my mokes..  later bc

Sorry "import expert" you are wrong about it being a CHOKE, you are wrong about vin. numbers, you are wrong about

added metal on the pontoons.

I heard this was a CHOKE you were importing with mini vin number on it?? got to be Choke with the 2 inch lip at the bottom of the pantoons..  later bc

sxsman..   you can still import a late model mini as parts.. just have to take out the engine and tranny and the EIGHT marked items such as the windscreen, seatbelts.. tyres.. ect.. and import in TWO different containers. and NOT on same ship..  you check box 2A for DOT and box W for the EPA..  btw   CBP is doing VASIS exam on most of these kind of PARTs import now.. cost is about an extra $5000.  later bc

The old days of going to Canada with a truck and trailer, buying a mini, dropping the front and rear sub frames out and returning to the border with the "parts" you just bought are over. (Not saying I know of this happening, (wink wink nod nod Bob's your uncle))

Just to correct B C's post, buyer and seller need to be presentat U S Customs, just the buyer only is required to be there

I exported a nice yellow mini to a buyer in Livermore CA, at U SCustoms in Detroit, officer asks where the buyer is ? , l say Livermore ca, he says" we'll bring him here". ?????, hello, like 3000 miles, then he says" just ship the mini to Mexico and he can pick it up there" I quickly found out, this wasn't going to end well- so l have to turn around and go back to Windsor Ontario, get a motel, work with my Broker back in Kenmore NY to get all the Brokerage paperwork completed- The next day at 3:00 PM , l went back to the Bridge and it all started again, full commercial inspection,get in line behind 100 plus trucks, sit and wait Finally they released me, this was Friday on Memorial Day week end and l had to get the mini to Reliable Transports ' yard in Canton Mi as they had a long haul Mover waiting for me to go west-( I had a deal with them to take minis in the rear of their furniture trailers to the west coast for $1100.00) Well even with Friday rush hour traffic, l made it just after 6:00PM, even drove it into the trailer myself, they locked up the trailer and away it went West- Realize story is boring to some but all part of the mini experience-

WRONG.. but you will figure this out the HARD way..btw I think Mini Mover said  buyer and seller MUST be at the border crossings.. unless you do  proper entry.. with Customs broker.. fyi.. I have only been importing cars for  last FORTY FOUR years.  why listen to me?/ you are an arm chair expert and know it ALL..  later bc

It's actually a Moke coming from B.C. going to Michigan. I would be picking it up myself

and crossing the border where ever it's easiest. I don't see a problem if title work is correct.
