I have an LED kit in my classic Mini. Brightness and color are great, just like an HID kit. My only complaint is that since the LEDs only fire in two directions they don't cover all of the reflector housing and that creates bright and dark spots on the road. I have been slowly working on my fog light install to supplement the headlights for better lighting. If the LED set I have burns out I will be replacing them with traditional HIDs since I know it will hit the reflectors properly and eliminate my hot spots.
I do not know if the LEDs will perform better in a projector housing or not. I don't have any projectors to test with.
I had an LED kit on my RSX and one of the fans got blocked so it didn't spin. This over-heated the LED and burnt it out. I wasn't impressed with the performance of the kit over my old HID kit anyway, so I put the HIDs back in. In the Mini I used an LED kit I found that has cooper mesh heat sinks. It is more reliable and has no moving parts for heat dissipation. I have enjoyed it much more than the fan style kit. It also has lasted longer.

Hi srss...
You might post your question on the forum at northamericanmotoring.com which is geared to the BMW version of the MINI. I don't believe we offer the LED conversion, and most of the members on here are Classic Mini guys! I do know that most of the "halo-projector" or LED conversions do require a birds nest of circuitry to be hidden somewhere near the headlights.

I have two 2016 hardtops that came with halogen headlights, saw the Lumen G7 LED headlight conversion kit that says just swap it out with halogen bulbs, has anyone tried this kit and is it really plug and play?
