Fun looking run, though. Even if they had them in the wrong order.

The really odd part of the Italian Job Minis is the MKI cars wearing"G" regs numbers. 1969 MKIs...hmmm! Don't even think they ever had legitimate logbooks in the first place. Sounds like someone did some creative paperwork somewhere. Good story line though.

"Retired:  No Job, No Money, Wife and I!  Will travel anywhere for Minis"

Worms time - pass me the can opener...

The fellow who built the cars bought the logbooks (at great expense I belive) and just made them based on photos and the film.

From what I understand, the description of "three boxes of bits" may be translated as "three envelopes with V5Cs in".

true enough, but considering the originals were all written off (and long gone)

and Michael Caine and (I forgot his hame who originally built them) were also involved, that makes these three pretty cool

Wasn't Charlie Croker more of a con man than a thief.....???  Maybe not... after all he did have a set of the tools of the trade....

Illegal copies I would think is the polite description..... revins might be the modern terminology.  But then I would LOVE to see the documentation that ties the fake number plates to the (no doubt) fake body no/car numbers.  We know the number plates were made up... Has anyone EVER seen any records/log books (V5s??) that purport to identify the originals??

Good on him if he found the original light bars etc ...  but the rest of the blurb makes this just as unbelievable as the "restoration"....

Cheers, Ian
