Strange that no one has mentioned the cut down mini sprint here, that

Larry Atkinson from MD finished

Beautiful workmanship, saw it at MM East in Oak Ridge TN this past July

You are better off leaving the roof seam alone as there is a lot of structual body strength in it. Also if you get caught in the rain it pi$$es in and soaks the inside without that roof gutter.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Give a car more power and it goes faster on the straights,
make a car lighter and it's faster everywhere. Colin Chapman.

Yes you are right, "Sprints" were seamless, although I have seen them with the roof seam still attached.

My thoughts are, a seamless looks weird, if you leave the roof line seam on it's ok. But no seams at all I don't like.

So I shall call it chopped and Channeled.

was listed @ grautogallery.com (Grand Rapids) Mich.

Has California plates so I believe that was the location, looking for any info. thanks.

Thanks Dave, and Michael for the info. I was just about to cut up my first Mini (67 Morris 850) which i bought
in 1970 and make it into a sprint, so when I saw the 69 already done by Kenny for sale just 3 hrs. from me
I had to have it. This car is better than I could have done. I'll be bringing it to MME 2017, just made reservations.
Hoping to see the red Estate that Big Al has been talking about.

The blue car is amazing. It was at MMW in 2008I on the day of the concours. Absolutely beautiful. I've been into minis since 1986, and have seen and had the opportunity to drive some amazing cars over the years. I must say, that car is definitely one of the top ten quality cars I have seen in a while. Congrats on the purchase, and if you are ever interested in selling it.... Let me know.

You could piss off 10 people before you get out of bed at noon with a red stripe hangover. Get back in your skunk hole.

Here's the link to when it previously sold at an auction. In Oct. 2012, it went for $22k at a No-Reserve Barrett-Jackson auction in Orange County, California. BJ auctions typically aren't the best venue for classic Minis, unless you are buying!

//www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1969-AUSTIN-MINI-COOPER-CUSTOM-2-DOOR-COUPE-130405

Lot #619.1 - This 1969 Austin Mini Sprint has been chopped and channeled with custom paint and body work done by a master craftsman and fabricator. Built as a labor of love over a 10 year period. Featured in November 2006 Mini Magazine. At first glance, it's reminiscent of the Mini Sprints built in the '60's for racing, but this one's a full-custom, one-off build. There's 2" chopped from the bottom of the body and doors and a 3" chopped top. All-steel. Cut-down side windows, including sliding ones, are tempered glass and front and rear windscreens are laminated safety glass. Fresh Mincomp 1380cc engine with aluminum head and 4-speed, four-synchro, newer rod change transmission. Brakes are Cooper S-disc and drum. It has GAZ adjustable shocks. Under 1,500 miles since complete. Carburetion is a 45 Weber on alloy intake manifold. Exhaust is standard bore Maniflow LCB headers. Flywheel and clutch are lightened to Mincomp spec's with Cooper 'S' blue spot cover. Charging system upgraded to alternator. Its original hydrolastic, wet, suspension is upgraded with S Racer red coil springs with adjustable Hi-Los. Left-hand drive steering. Minilite-style 8-spoke alloys with Yokohama rubber. Modified Wood & Pickett style wheel flares. Body color mirrors. Stock Mk2 grille and stock deck lid. Full, pull-back style sunroof. Battery relocated to under rear seat. Small dry-cell racing battery. Custom fabricated fuel tank holds 10 gallons. Interior features wood dash, gray upholstery with modified Recaro-style seats. The suspension and underneath the car are just as clean as the rest of the car.

GR Auto Gallery in Grand Rapids, Michigan had been asking $24.9k.

(The classics dealer has contacted me a few times in the past about classic Minis.)

Definitely a nice, one-of-a-kind Mini - I've seen it in person! A great bargain when you consider how much went into its build!

And, speaking of the small Mini world....

Folks at the Mini Meet thought it would be fun to see what the small-block Chevy powered Mini pickup would look like setting on Al Frost's gooseneck trailer that he has taken back and forth across the country...

Sorry, Al's pickup and trailer are also Not For Sale!

I always say, "It's a small world when it comes to these small cars!"

Jason's yellow VTEC wagon went to a Mini enthusiast in Northern California.

The same buyer adopted another modified Mini from my website. (I brokered the sale.)
