Yes, that's the design I'm copying, except I'll use a flat piece across the rear shock towers per the other one I'm basing design on. Should spin a tiny bit easier- Thx for pics

CA

I bought a Van project last year and it came with the rotisserie, very basic, but works well, the centre of balance is a bit low, so it does take 2 people to spin it.

The rear bolts to the shock towers and the front bolts into the 4 small captive nuts that hold the speedo binnacle in place. When I first saw it, I figured it had no chance of being strong enough, but it worked perfectly!

Ha- mine was planned from HF engine stands too! Except I checked my pile of steel & found a heavier engine hoist/shop crane that has a bunch of slide together tube & combined w all the other stuff I've been gathering (for YEARS) for this project, I don't need the engine stands now. 8" casters - ebay is my personal pal.

Really appreciate the measurements guys, I was caught up in paralysis by analysis... Heck, I may even paint it one color when I'm done.

In this article //www.minimania.com/How_To___Build_a_Mini_Rotisserie_for_less_than__200 it shows the uprights at 36" (3').

You may be able to go as little as 2.5' .

Most production rotisserie's are adjustable. You've mentioned you are going to make it adjustable. If it will just be used for mini with no other car consideration maybe 2.5' on the low end and 3.5' on the upper end of adjustment.

Happy New Year! If anyone has a rotisserie for a classic Mini, what's your largest radius (swing/spin) measurement? I'm designing my own (after much brow-beating) and will make it adjustable in height-to-skewer. Just want to see what others have figured. Thanks
