Sorry Jim, the Blue Jackets won, 15 Straight, great for Pro hockey in Ohio, as if Columbus hasn't had enough winners what with OSU football

Most of the "content" on that show is scripted - just think about it; it has to be... Explain how are the cameras already there, the folks always home, and no vicious dogs biting their ankles... That said, I believe that a good majority of the items they find are genuine purchases, but it's clear some are "plants".
There is a old boy in Louisville was visited by the guys a few years ago and subtly laughed when I was asking him about them. He didn't want to say any more than that, but it's clear the TV action is not all that real in reality.
But it's still entertainment and I will watch it if it's on and I'm not doing anything (usually when I'm traveling)... much better than that south beach tow / gold rush fake crap!

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

i think most times he already has a buyer lined up at a set price before he purchases something.   it is a tv show where everything is scripted.  my guess is that it has a new home

Back to the topic at hand.  Recorded the episode on Mom's DVR.  Saw the episode NYE and it looked like a fairly good deal.  We'll just have to wait and see if you can buy it from Antique Archeology or if it has already been sold.  If I had to guess, it's gone already but what do I know?

Bill, you and I have been to a few of the same Triumph sponsored shows and I regularly attend the local MG show.  I would not categorize MG and Triumph owners the same as the Jag and big Healey owners.  Most MG and Triumph guys I know are very social and do not have big check books to pay others to fix their cars.  Most MG and Triumph guys I know around here are like me and have done all their own mechanical and body work.

Also, statements from your post such as  "...we all hang around together...and do NOT pay the other owners a lot of attention... suggest that Mini owners are snobs.  At shows I seldom stay with my car but wander around to see what others brought and talk with them.  Most car owners are going to be partial to what they brought to a show.  That doesn't mean they are lazy, rich, anti-social, or "pricks".

Jim:

Right you are ,two NHL teams, one on a 14 game win streak and your team on a 12

Something's got to give,

I like the Blue Jackets only because "torts" can get his team, the Blue Jackets up for a game like this- I used to go to see Buffalo Sabres every New Years Eve, for their "Pucks & Tux nite" , but sadly they gave that up

It was weird, women in full gowns and furs, men in tails and top hats and we Canadians in blue jeans and wind breakers

Maybe Trump will change all that and make The Sabres "Great Again"

People love the mini around here in NJ .Truckers from all over the place park down the road a little and always stop and see it if its out.I usually never works with the garage door open with that car because of that reason.I like to be left alone and don't really want to answer questions.Usually I chose to drive it at night as well but apparently the lights are unusual and people spot it.

I totally agree with BC , when i went to one of the British car show somewhere in a sunny part of California, i noticed that only the classic mini owners hang around with each other and no other brit car owners even go around and look at the little minis or even talk to the owners, indeed it's either you hate or love the mini, some people don't even bother to look at them, some goes all smiles when they see one, and some intentionally avoid looking at them but when no one is looking they'd give it a quick glance, as if they are embarrassed when they are seen by people looking at minis. i dunno why. That is why, i've been asking people here what is the reputation of classic mini in the classic car world.  Because i notice, the only ones who are attracted to classic minis are the kids inside the schoolbus, the senior citizens and some other random people.   The worse people you can be driving along with on the road are the mustang and camaro owners, and the big block V8 owners and the ricers....they always think that classic minis are not street legal, and that it is not capable of keeping up with the normal traffic.  HeyL with them!!!
