Ron's is the silver car not the green one.
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

make a car lighter and it's faster everywhere. Colin Chapman.

Cord is nicer but three times the price and impossible to import into Canada. Spoke to Ron and there is some wiring and carbs problems to settle and the paperwork is still in the previous owners name and a year "error" to correct..

that was early 2000's.
Last I heard the cars were sold and the person who imported them was in trouble for importing illegal cars... Wish I had one.

Debbie, when where did you take the picture of the two Mini Cords, and do you have any information?
Would love to know more about them.

I need to search my archives. I might have some pics of that Domino as it sat in my garage being drooled on until you could get to the mountains to pick it up! That was another one I let get away.

I was referring to the Company in the UK that used to do factory conversions on standard 2 Door minis,
They had a website but it disappeared and l believe they are out of business
They cut the top out just behind the windshield and left a 3-4 inch portion of the roof for ridgitity and then cut the back section out to finish off the convertible, just a snap on vinyl tarp to keep out the elements, not a true Cabriolet in the sense of the meaning but it worked

The car had $25k invested in it, 1380cc Swiftune, 5 speed tranny, KAD quickswift, beautiful interior & gold 13 inch mini Lites
The story goes that a guy in Burlington ,Ontario, had it built up at Mr Mini as a surprise for his wife, she looked at it and said she wanted a convertible, BUMMER, so he sold it to Steve @ mr Mini and bought her an MGB At the time, l was using the back shop at Mr Minis as a year round, indoor show room and Steve had this BRG Domino sitting inside as well-of course it was the centre of attention and l couldn't sell D*** as everyone wanted a mini like that, so, to keep my sales alive, l bought the Domino-
Well that was an experience, oversteer was just plain scary, power to burn!
Well l sold it to former long time poster Bill Foster in CT and he just about put it in the ditch because of the over steer and demanded that l take it back, well we worked out a deal and l got the Domino back as well as an OZ Moke, details are blurry but it worked out
I then sold it to a guy in St Foye Quebec, took his Keith's mini convertible in trade, he spent $1,000. Plus on the suspension and cured the over steer problem, but he had a fall at work and hurt his back and had to dump it, so l bought it back, he wanted his Keith's convertible back but by that time the black Keith's was in Northern MI I then sold it to a XUK type in Valprazio IN and the last l saw of it, it was sitting in a 1000 acre corn field, never heard a word of it again, keep in mind this was all around 16 years ago
If anyone has any pics of the BRG Domino please put them up, it had large gold Cooper decals on it to match the gold alloy mini Lites
All of the above is true, (Count your fingers)
BIG AL
P S, If l had been the original builder in Burlington, Ont, l would still have the $25k Domino and the wife would be in the cornfield in Indiana LOL

No body seams made it more aerodynamic.
Keith bolted the front bumper on just before we left for Mini meet.
I am sure that it would polish back up to a nice shine and other than the radio and the front bumper missing; it even still has the original wheels.

When new, that car was among a few that we caught up to and then travelled with to get to MME in 1991, just outside of Atlanta. It got spectacular fuel economy.

A Pimlico HT. It was number 23...
Also the paperwork that came with it.
The picture of Keith with it in the driveway. Still on the pallet. Then built it was used Summer and Winter. Just a little bit of snow!
It was special order because they did not offer BRG.
Crazy to see it reappear after 16 years.
