I see no information on their web pages, but they have posted some information and pictures on Facebook.

Yes, that was me that had (has, still have the car) the MM supercharger kit. I've had it on the car with no issues for the past 10-12 years. Bolted it right on to a 65k stock motor. Runs 5lb of boost happily.

For sure! That's why I had the compression checked, but the more I looked into this, the more changes I realized should be done to minimize the chances of failure down the road. Now that I know this is a 1275, (I thought it was a 998) the car feels so much faster!

Yep, when you add power, you HAVE to add strength to everything else. If anything is even slightly on its way out or a bit weak, it WILL break when more power is added. Like everything, once you touch one thing, you end up touching it all. I have a Beetle that was getting a simple tune-up. One of the plugs sheared off in the head. What started as a simple tune up turned into the complete motor swap/upgrade and restoration...all from a spark plug:-)

Yup, so now I know that I can use an Eaton SC with this application, but the more I learn about doing the conversion, the less I think I want to do it. The impression I had from talking to this person @ Lime Rock was that it was a pretty straightforward bolt-on type of modification. There's a lot more involved, and now I realize that I would need to upgrade the gearbox to a crosspin differential as well. That sounds like a large job in and of itself. I think I will enjoy the car/engine just as Sir Alec designed it!

Thanks! Looks like a sweet setup. Can I use an Eaton M45 supercharger with this?

Worked on an mg that had a supercharger on it from Moss motors.
Looked like an easy conversion. Someone told me they sold a kit for a mini, never checked it out though.
Nice side draft Weber, you might have something.

When I was seriously considering FI, I was going to use a Podifold Manifild. I may still use one on a future engine. It's the best setup I've seen on an A series engine.
I would do a hyperlink, but this forum won't let me do it on mobile.

I have found that (mush like dyno test numbers) every compression gauge reads different. I test my motor with three different ones and i got three different readings. Like COMPLETELY different. One said 100 across all 4 while the others said around 200. Anyway, you will need to be certain you have a healthy motor first.
And I can attest to that motor pictured above as I have been to a few events with Al running it. Man, that thing was a beast!

Thanks, I realize that I will have to reduce the compression after the supercharger is installed. I was just curious what perfect numbers would be for a stock 1275.

Cylinder pressures could be meaningless. I'm no expert but you need a compression ratio that is less than for a normally aspirated engine, like 7:1 compared to 9:1. I have a friend who put a Shorrock super charger directly on the motor of his race Mini, which admittedly would have had a race motor high CR, but still it didn't take too long to 'blow' the top off a piston.

Compression test showed the following:
Cyl. #1:130 PSI
Cyl. #2: 130 PSI
Cyl. #3: 140 PSI
Cyl. #4: 150 PSI
Are these numbers OK to go ahead and add the supercharger, or should I be concerned with Cylinders #1 and 2? Are they all supposed to be 150? And does anybody have any input/suggestions as to what specific supercharger kit I should go with? Thanks!

I think it was Todd(ADO16)'s brother Tori that had the MM SC installed in a Mini.

Any power adders to a Tired motor WIll be cause for failure.. but failure means learning and only getting better
