MINI MANIA COLD AIR INTAKE INSTALLATION ON GEN1 MINIS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Installation of the Mini Mania Cold Air Intake on the 2002 - 2006 MINI Cooper S with an Automatic Transmission requires an additional step in the installation.
Issue:
The MINI Cooper S Automatic R52 and R53 Models have an additional 'hard line' that conflicts with the space occupied by the Mini Mania Cold Air Intake heat shield (due to its oversized airbox).
Solution:
The simple solution is to move the 'hard line' aside and put a sheath over the hard line for protection against abrasion over time. A piece of heater hose works great.
Procedure:
Obtain a 2 inch piece of heater hose large enough to cover the hard line. Cut a slit along the length of the hose. Slip the hose piece over the hard line at the point of contact and secure with plastic zip ties.
Maintenance:
Occasionally check the condition of the hard line to ensure the sheath is in place.
